2004 Olympian welterweight Andre Berto (12-0, 10 KOs) dropped Sammy Sparkman (18-14-1, 8 KOs) in round two and after a further barrage of punches the bout was stopped at 2:50 of round two.

Unbeaten super middleweight Anthony Hanshaw (19-0, 13 KOs) was back in action after a nearly two year layoff, taking a one-sided six round decision over James North (8-11-2, 3 KOs). Hanshaw was credited with a knockdown after buckling North's knees in the third. From that point on, North was in survival mode, losing a shutout 60-53 decision on all cards.

Unbeaten junior middleweight Sechew Powell (20-0, 12 KOs) scored a tenth round TKO over Willie Lee (14-5, 10 KOs). Lee held his own in the early rounds, but Powell came on strong down the stretch, finally dropping Lee in the tenth. A wobbly Lee barely beat the count and the bouth was waved off at 2:23 of round ten.

Lightweight contender Isaac Hlatshwayo (25-0, 9 KOs) easily defeated Jeremy Yelton (17-6, 9 KOs) over eight rounds in a junior welterweight bout. Hlatshwayo outboxed Yelton and landed his jabs almost at will, sweeping to a 80-72, 79-73, 80-72 win.

Heavyweight Terry Smith (27-1-1, 18 KOs) punished journeyman Dennis McKinney (25-40-2, 12 KOs), finally trapping McKinney in a corner forcing the referee to administer an eight count at 1:25 of round eight. McKinney's corner then asked that the beating be stopped.

Unbeaten junior middleweight Jose Angel Rodriguez (7-0, 1 KO) dropped Jesse Orta (6-7-1, 4 KOs) in round five on the way to a 60-53 win on all cards.
